Starting as a project to document life as the big 3-0 approached, this space has turned out to be such a meaningful journey. I have a renewed desire to be more present in my day-to-day life, cherish the small moments, and try new things. Time flies, so I want to make the most of what life has to offer and take control of the details that will make our lives shine.
If I’m being honest with you, and myself, I was looking for ways to make myself feel better about getting older when I started this blog. Milestone birthdays have that effect. Not that 30 is old, but it does make you take inventory of your life. Since starting this blog several months ago, I’ve learned so many new things…I can actually develop my own recipes, try my hand at complex dishes, generate new ideas to entertain, grow plants (successfully), and find the joy in the details of life.
I fully believe that life is a buffet of options, and there is no one right way to approach it. I want to be healthy, but not stress if I want to indulge and have dessert every once in a while. I don’t believe in pursuing only one type of workout routine…it’s fun to mix it up (muscle confusion, anyone?)! We are all in this journey together, so I want this space to be one of collaboration, discussion, fun, and friendship! I want us to curate our best lives.
A little about me: I’m a true Georgia Peach, born on Peachtree Street and raised in Atlanta. I left the state to go college at The University of Alabama – Roll Tide – where I met my husband, Cliff. While in Tuscaloosa, I earned two degrees in Communication Studies, taught public speaking, was a DJ on 90.7 FM, and had the time of my life. I work in higher education now, and am learning all about life as the wife of a doctoral student. Though I’m a bit of an old soul, that doesn’t define me. On any given day, you can find me watching old episodes of Martha Stewart Living, Barefoot Contessa, or Julia Child, then hear me jam out to 90s R&B.
Enough about me! I hope we get to know each other through this platform, and share all life has to offer. I’m so glad you’re here!
